Following the “Hon nhien nhu co tien” project with four main exhibit spaces take place at 22 Hang Buom – a heritage location with a 200 years of history, the exhibition “Realm of fairies” can be considered as the 5th space of the project, when the team members including young artists from Vietnam University of Fine Arts want to continue to display and interact their latest works in the space of Nam Huong communal temple at 75 Hang Trong. It truly is fascinating how the fairy images that filled the carvings of Northern communal temples, an inspiration for teachers and students to be immersed in emotions and creativity 2 months ago, now had the opportunity to returned to a communal temple in the heart of the Old Quarter, under the form of latest artworks created in the past 1 month. These artworks made by materials ranging from traditonal such as Silk, lacquer, Dó paper... to modern materials like digital art, installation, video art... will expand the fairy dreams in this beautiful heritage space. With “Realm of fairies”, we want to continue the series of creating and displaying exhibitions that dialogue with the space and location according to the model of “Xưởng Lụa” - “Silk Studio” project that has been carried out in the past few years. Start with project exhibition “From traditional to traditional”, “Hang Trong folk paintings”, “Tiger walking in Town” and now “Realm of fairies” will help making the space of Nam Huong communal temple become closer to the fresh vitality comes from new artistic creations of a generation of young artists who want to continue writing their new stories with pure and natural inspirations for the quintessence of traditional Vietnamese art.
The exhibition also combines workshop activities using multi-materials such as Silk, Lacquer, Dó Paper,...
