Golden Mai was crafted from a special memory of Van Tich. The artist applied thin layers with multiple shades of purple to the surface and inlaid reflective sheets of silver/gold to create a clear and endless sky. The main figures include a son and his father sitting in the dark, gazing upon the tree. He and his child were waiting in the hospital corridor for his wife as she was overcoming a critical situation. The bright yellow flowers are symbols of hope piercing through an endless dark sky.
